Although I love to reconnect with family and friends in person, it’s always hard for me to say goodbye to Maine and return to my home state of Iowa. This year, I couldn’t have left on a greater note, as three of my best college friends surprised me and flew out to Portland to drive back to the Midwest with me. We made a pretty epic adventure out of it, spending our first few days in Maine at Acadia National Park and Girls Camp at Fourth Debsconeag Lake. Our timing was perfect with the fall foliage as we drove the 1,900 miles from Maine to Iowa through Ontario, Canada. I’m missing Chewonki and New England already but know that I’ll be back again soon! Happy Fall everyone!
