Another early morning rise for Polar Bears. Today was our second activity day. We had more paddle making, more birding and nature tours (this time via canoe), and more kayaking and sailing skills. The afternoon was filled with a tremendous rain storm. What a show! From inside the main lodge we watched huge pellets of hail come out of the sky and land on the trail down to the lake. We had a blast doing crafty activities such as working with clay, hand weaving, bracelet making, creative writing, drawing, and more.
We continue to eat like queens up here! Our cooks Blair and Josh continue to put so much effort and thought into every meal. Today for dinner we had roasted salmon, fresh salad greens from a local organic farm (just outside of Greenville), topped with a homemade sesame dressing, and balanced off with a quinoa brown rice combination. The vegetarian option was grilled tofu. We continue to encourage and watch girls try and discover new foods that they grow to love. Deliciously ripe watermelon was our desert.
