It is hard to believe that tonight is the last night for the Saltwater Session girls! They are all very eager about the campfire skits, songs, and goofiness that will shine around the open fire tonight. But, before we even get there, there is a lot of eagerness for the activities this afternoon. From paddling in the ocean, to exploring the farm, to etching nature prints, to swimming, and to showering (?! yes, many are excited to get a bit of the salt off their hair and bodies with a fresh water shower), the girls have big plans for the next few hours. At lunch today I was asking the girls at my table about their highlights of camp thus far, the hands shot up with excitement to share not one, but, many highlights thus far. Some of them included: swimming, the farm, the barn climb, campfire, singing, and, I also picked up that they were making new friends which as adding to their experience, as, they referred to each other as “my friend” so and so, referring to another camper at the other table. Tonight’s dinner is pizza, salad, breadsticks, and ice cream sundays… they girls are pretty excited about this, in fact, spent a good portion of lunch sharing excitement for dinner (as the meals of the day are posted in the dining hall). I am sure the girls will have plenty of stories, games, and new skills to share with you when you come to pick them up tomorrow. It has been a great week, we lucked out with weather, and we lucked out to have a wonderful group of girls join us who are eager to learn, explore, and have fun.
