Four vans and a mini-bus full of excited campers and leaders made it to the shores of Fourth Debsconeag Lake last night. The girls hiked into camp and a warm meal of homemade tomato soup, grilled cheese (on homemade spelt bread), and garden fresh greens with a sweet chocolate chip cookie treat for dessert was waiting in our dining hall (many thanks to Blair and Josh our great cooks). The traditions begin again. We ate a delicious meal, sang songs, and began our first evening circle as a yurt group. To top off the experience, the night sky was full of stars!! We woke today to a beautiful sun rise and crystal clear skies. Girls are off unpacking, doing swim tests, and gearing up for their afternoons of exploration around Fourth Debsconeag Lake. Tonight will be our first campfire together. We look forward to the song, laughter, and introductions that will take place.
