We gave a hearty Bon Voyage to the Allagash Canoe group, as they made their way to Lobster Stream, where they will begin their 20-day journey on the Penobscot River and Allagash Waterway. The sun shining was a good sign of what was to come.
The theme for camp today was “Sense of Place.” The girls unpacked their gear, toured campus, and began to explore the waters and trails around Fourth Debsconeag. Trillium and Clintonia hiked up the cliffs while Trout Lily paddled around the lake.
Tonight was our first campfire!! Everyone came to the lakeside with a skit to share, song to sing, and bellies full of laughter. At some point in the campfire, every camper and staff member got up and introduced themselves to the community. This came in all forms as you can imagine the group’s imaginative powers.
